What to know about Portuguese transcription

  • One code, pt, covers Brazil, Portugal, Angola and Mozambique. Brazilian and European pronunciation differ a lot; test with your audience's accent.
  • Spelling differs slightly between Brazil and Portugal (for example "facto/fato"). There is no spelling option; normalize in post-processing if needed.
  • Portuguese speakers often borrow English tech terms. Send pt explicitly on mixed recordings.

Choosing a model

Start with oracle (US$1.44 per hour) for production Portuguese audio.
